MacBook Pro 2017 15 inches with TouchBar Initial Impression
As soon as I unboxed the MacBook Pro, I fell in love with the look and the feel of the laptop. The first thing that got my eye is that glowing Apple logo is no more. The latest version of MacBook Pro comes with Metallic finish Apple logo on the front. In terms of Specifications, the variant (MPTR2LL/A) which I got has 15 inches retina display with TouchBar. The other technical specification includes 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel i7 7th Gen Keby Lake processor, 16GB RAM, 2GB Radeon Pro 555 Graphics card and 256GB SSD.
The trackpad was so large and it is one of the biggest trackpads I have seen in any Laptop. It includes the Apple force touch technology and doesn’t have any physical button. The next thing that has caught my eye is the Touchbar on the top of the keyboard. Instead of making touch display Apple has come up with an idea called Touchbar. Touchbar gives you with the shortcut for the Application you are working on and Some Basic system shortcuts. Also, you can edit the touch bar functionality according to your need. As of now, only a few Applications are supported by the touchbar and I wish developers to make full use of it.
The keyboard on the latest MacBook Pro is pretty good and I don’t have any issues with it. It comes with Butterfly 2.0 mechanism and l love the mechanical sound it gives when I type. Now, let’s talk about the main disadvantage about the MacBook Pro 2017. The latest MacBook Pro has only 4 Type-C ports and nothing else. You will need an adaptor in case you want to connect Pendrive, Hard disk, external monitor or any other external device. Upon using the laptop for more than 3 weeks, I feel this is the hardest thing I faced. I hated to search for the adapter everytime I wanted to connect something to my MacBook Pro.
Talking about the battery life 2017 MacBook Pro, I am pretty satisfied. I got around 8-9 hours of battery life on heavy usage and 4-5 hours of battery life on heavy usage. The battery gets charged up quickly and I don’t have any issues with it. These are my initial impression with the latest MacBook Pro 2017 and I will soon post the full review with Pro and Cons of the Laptop. I have also planned to post the best Must have accessories for the latest MacBook Pro. I have also shared the top MacBook Pro tips and tricks, make sure to check it out.
