Zenfone Max series is the one of the best selling devices for Asus. Adding to the list, the Company has recently launched the Asus Zenfone 3S Max with a whomping 5000 mAh battery. This is the highest battery capacity Smartphone on any Asus device till date. So, today in this post we are going to review the Asus Zenfone 3s MAX and find out its pros and cons.
Asus Zenfone 3S Max Review
Design and Build
When it comes to the design, the company has made a major change to the 3S Max looks when compared to other Max devices. The comes with the unibody metal design and the 5000 mAh battery inside makes the device little bulkier. On the front the fingerprint scanner is placed and to the rear side you can find the camera along with dual LED flash followed by the Asus logo. On the top, you get the 3.5mm headphone jack (best budget headphones) and the volume, power keys placed at the right side.
To the left, the SIM tray is placed and the Micro USB port, Microphone, speaker is placed at the bottom of the phone. The phone feels little slippery at times.
The Asus Zenfone 3S Max sports the 5.2 inch HD Display. The phone comes with the 720p resolution display but sadly every other phone at the same price range packs the 1080p display. It comes with the onscreen navigation button but sadly it occupies a huge space on the 5.2 inch display. Apart from this the display looks good with 2.5D glass and even the viewing angles are good.
In terms of performance, the Zenfone 3S Max comes with 1.5 GHz Octa Core MediaTek MT6750 processor paired with 3GB RAM. It comes with 32GB of onboard storage and also supports the expandable memory. Coming to the performance part, the phone just does a decent job and nothing excellent. The phone performance good on the day to day usage but sruggles a little when it comes to the heavy usage.
The call quality on the 3S Max is good enough and has the VoLTE support as well. It comes with the hybrid SIM slot with Micro SIM & Nano SIM support.
The Asus Zenfone 3S Max comes with 13MP rear camera with dual LED Flash. The camera does the decent job at the natural lighting. The images looks good but does not have much of the detailing in it. The camera lacks a little in the bad lighting situation. The 8MP front facing camera does the decent job in the good lighting condition but the image packs lots of grains when there is no enough light.
The Zenfone 3S Max runs on the Android N 7.0 out the box. You also get the Google Assistant on your Smartphone. The Software is topped by the ZenUI 3.0 which provides lots of extra features.
The fingerprint scanner on the 3S Max is little slower when compared to its competitors or even other Asus Smartphones. The Fingerprint scanner is not active Scanner, you need to press the button and only then it works.
Battery is the one of the best thing on the Asus Zenfone 3S Max. The phone packs 5000 mAh non removable battery. How to reset Android phones with non removable batteries? The battery lasts for one whole day when you are a heavy user and gives 2 days of battery life on the normal usage.

The Asus Zenfone 3S Max would be the good choice if your only concern is battery. The phone lacks better performance and camera thats where Redmi Note 4 and Honor 6X takes up the Zenfone 3S Max.
