Android Lollipop has introduced a new called ” Merge Tabs and Apps” for Google Chrome browser.By this option, the Google Chrome browser treats every new tab as the seperate Application or the new windows. So its not the same way to close the tab or switch between the tabs like you do on older version of Google Chrome or Android Kitkat.Even for the first time when I used Google Chrome on Android Lollipop L, I was wondering how to close the tabs or switch between the tab.Later I found that each tabs are opened as new window and can be closed by going to the recent Apps window. Also, in this post I will also write on How to get back the old method of closing the tabs in Google Chrome Browser.Alright! here is the guide on How to Close tabs in Google Chrome of Android Lollipop.
Close tabs in Google Chrome of Android Lollipop
By default each of the new tab is opened as the new windows in Google Chrome for Android L version. So you can simply switch between the Tabs or the close the tab by tapping the recent windows button.
If you are phone is having Onscreen buttons then you can make it even more easier.Just Swipe the three navigation button from left to right or right to left to switch between the tabs. But you cant follow this method if your phone dont have onscreen buttons.
How to get back to old tab style in Android Lollipop
If you dont like this new way to close tabs in Google chrome of Android Lollipop then you can also change them in settings. You can close the tabs or switch between the tabs like you do on Android Kitkat or any other old version. To do it Go to Google Chrome> Settings> Merge tabs and Apps> disable the option.
By disabling the option the tabs will move to a tab switcher inside Chrome. Now you dont need to open recent Apps to close or switch between the Apps as you can do it inside the chrome browser. For more Android How to and tips, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
