Design & Look
In terms of design, the Honor 5C comes with the full metal unibody design. The phone feels light and weighs only 156 grams, the curved back makes the device comfortable to hold. To the front, we have the sensors, earpiece and an 8MP front camera followed by the 5.2 inches screen and the Honor logo. At the top, the 3.5mm headphone jack and a secondary noise cancellation mic are placed and to the bottom, we have the speaker and a microphone.
On the left-hand side of the Honor 5c, the volume button and the power button is placed. To the left-hand side, we have the Hybrid SIM slot and both the SIM accepts only the Nano SIM. On the rear side, we have the 13MP rear camera with LED Flash followed by the Fingerprint scanner and the Honor logo. Also, note that the back panel cannot be removed in the Honor 5C.
The Honor 5C comes with the 5.2 inch HD with 1080×1920 pixels resolution. Unfortunately, the display is not protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass. The display looks bright and accurate in the indoor and the outdoor conditions as well. I somehow felt that the touch could have been little better. You can change the font size and the font type of your wish as well. the Honor 5C has the one-hand mode which is really useful while traveling. I strongly recommend you to install the scratch guard or a tempered glass.
In terms of performance, the Honor 5C is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 650 with Quad-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 + quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53. It has 2GB of RAM and Mali-T880MP2 GPU for better gaming performance. To be honest, the phone performance really well. The new Kirin chipset has the ability to boost the performance similar to the high-end processor. I have tried opening too many Apps and make them run in the background and I had no issue with the multitasking. Clearly the RAM every now and them gave me a buttery smooth experience.
In terms of gaming, the Honor 5C performed really good. There are no issues or lags with the small games like Vector, Clash of Clans, Temple run and much more. And even with some HD games like Dead trigger 2, the game played smooth and there are no issues at all. With the Asphalt 8 and Nova 3, the gameplay is smooth and lag free at medium graphics settings but when it comes to high graphics settings there are few lags and frame drops are observed. Surprisingly, the Honor 5C does not heat up, even after the hours of playing some HD games the phone temperature doesn’t go high.
The internal storage of the device is 16GB and it can be also expanded up to 128GB using a Micro SD Card. The speaker quality on the Honor 5C was good enough and it was clear and loud as well.
