The Vivo V5 Plus comes with a Dual front camera with front LED Flash. Yes, you guys heard it right. The Vivo V5 Plus is the successor of the Vivo V5 and now let’s check out how actually it performs. So here is the Vivo V5 Plus review, the dual front camera Smartphone.
Vivo V5 Plus Review
Build and design
As usual talking about the built in the phone at first, the Vivo V5 Plus comes metal unibody design. At the first glance, you may notice that the design is much similar to the iPhone 7. Taking about the placements, the volume rockers and the power button is placed on to the right of the phone. While the SIM tray is placed on the left-hand side which supports two Nano SIM cards. On the top, you may find nothing and to the bottom, the 3.5mm headphone jack, Micro-USB port, Mic and the speaker is placed.
To the rear side, the camera module is placed followed by the LED Flash and the Vivo Logo at the center. Talking about the box contents, you will get a headset itself, Power adaptor, Micro USB cable, Earphone( check : Best In-ear headphones under 1000 rupees ), Sim Ejector, User manual, Earphone, Silicon case and the scratch guard. The phone feels little slippery because of the form factor but the provided Silicon case would fix the problem for you.
Now coming to the display of the phone, the Vivo V5 Plus comes with 5.5 inches Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution display. As per the company saying, the phone comes with the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 but still I find some scratches on the casual use. So I highly recommend you guys to install the Screen protector that comes with the phone. The V5 Plus comes with plenty of display option to play with and you it also has the eye protection option. The display quality of the phone is excellent with good viewing angles and color reproduction.
Before discussing the actual performance lets talk the paper specification of the phone. The Vivo V5 Plus comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Chipset which is clocked at 2.0 GHz and has 4GB of RAM. The internal storage of the device is 64GB which cannot be expanded any further.
Now let us talk the actual performance of the phone. The Snapdragon 625 chipset actually does a good job. The phone could handle anything thrown at it and even handles the multitasking well. The gaming on the Vivo V5 Plus is a good experience even on the High-end games at the high graphics settings. But it is recommended to clear the RAM before any high-end gaming to avoid frame drops and good gaming experience.
Here comes the selling point of this Smartphone, camera. The Vivo V5 Plus comes with 16 megapixel primary camera with LED Flash. On the front, you will get the 20MP + 8MP camera setup with front LED Flash. Talking about the actual quality of the camera, it takes a good image with good color reproduction and details but nothing extraordinary. Moving on to the front camera, the Vivo V5 Plus manages to click some awesome selfies even at the outdoor and indoor condition. Thanks to the Dual camera setup that you can click some good looking Bokeh selfie. Not to forget that you can record the 4K videos using the V5 Plus. Below are the some of the camera samples of the Vivo V5 Plus so that you can get the better idea of the camera.
UI & Software experience
Moving on to the UI, the Vivo V5 Plus runs on the Android Marshmallow 6 with their custom UI which actually looks similar to the IOS. The Funtouch OS provides lots of options to play with which actually pretty good like Smart gesture, Split Screen etc. For some reasons, I couldn’t able to capture Screenshots by pressing and holding the Power+ Volume down button, weird. But you will get the separate option to capture screen shot by accessing the quick toggle window.
The Fingerprint Scanner on the front works really well and it actually works as the button. Double-pressing the button will trigger any App which you can choose from the provided list. Taking about the cellular quality, the Vivo V5 Plus does the pretty neat job. It also comes with the VoLTE and the 4G support on the both the SIMS. The speaker does the neat job and there is nothing much to complain about.
Here comes the department for which I like the Vivo V5 Plus the most. The V5 Plus comes with 3055 mAh battery which lasts for a whole day on the casual usage. With a heavy usage you need to charge twice a day. But thanks to the Quick charger, the Phone charges from 0-100% in less than 2 hours which is pretty good. The phone comes with the regular Micro-USB port and not the Type-C port.

To conclude the Vivo V5 Plus review, here are my final thoughts. The phone is good in overall performance but considering the price I feel it is over priced. Just for the sake of good selfies, I cannot spend Rs.28,000 on a Smartphone. But if you the one who really loves to click Selfies at any lighting conditions and doesn’t care to spend much then Vivo V5 Plus would be your choice.
