WhatsApp is the world’s number one instant messaging App which is owned by the Facebook now. The WhatsApp has the millions of daily users who share images and messages with their friends and relatives through WhatsApp groups and personal chats. Some of the users do not want their WhatsApp images and videos to display in their Gallery. There are many situations where we don’t want our WhatsApp images and videos to appear on our Android Gallery. There is an option to hide WhatsApp images and videos on iPhone, but there are no such options for Android. When you have some private or unwanted pictures on WhatsApp and doesn’t want them to appear in the gallery then there is an easy way to hide them.
How to hide WhatsApp images and videos from Android Gallery
This tutorial is very simple and you don’t need any extra App to hide the WhatsApp media from the Android Gallery. If you are on lots of WhatsApp group and want to hide the private image from appearing to the Album or Gallery, here is the simple How-to tutorial.
Open any of your favourite File browsers, in case if you don’t have any File manager then I would recommend you to download and Install ES File Explorer for your Android Smartphone.
Now, open the File manager and you will find many File and Folders of your Android device. Find the Folder name called “WhatsApp”. Now if you want to hide only the WhatsApp images from the Gallery then head to WhatsApp>Media> WhatsApp Images. After this create a File named “.nomedia“. Tada now go to your Android Gallery, you won’t find any WhatsApp images in your Album.
Note: The .Nomedia File helps you to hide the media from appearing to your Gallery.
In the same case, if you don’t want your WhatsApp videos to appear on your Android Gallery then you can simply place the .Nomedia File in the WhatsApp>Media>WhatsApp Videos folder. If you want to hide both videos and images of your WhatsApp from your Android Gallery then place the .Nomedia File in WhatsApp> Media Folder. In case if you want the images and videos to appear back in Gallery or Mx player then delete the .Nomedia File. Also, make sure to enable Show Hidden Files option to view the hidden file.
