We are quite familiar with the “Last Seen” feature on WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. Now, Instagram is testing out a new feature and with the new feature, you can actually check the persons last seen.
Instagram shows the last seen time like ‘Active now’, ‘Active 1hr ago’ and ‘Active yesterday’. This activity is shown right next to the Direct message of the person. However, you cannot check the online activity of the person you have not chatted with. In order to view the active time, the direct message has to send and you cannot check it from his/her profile.
After noticing this, I have also noticed the screenshot notification on Direct message images. I get notified when the receiver screenshot the image I have sent him. This is a pretty useful feature and the same screenshot notification works on the Instagram stories as well. I am not sure this is a new feature or have lasted earlier but I have noticed just today. This Screenshot notification feature was first available in the Snapchat Application.
Update: You can turn off the Activity status from Instagram settings if you wish others to not see your last seen. But if you turn off the activity status then you won’t able to see the activity status of other accounts. Make sure to follow me on Instagram 😉
